Happy 60th Birthday Class of '76 and Sailing the Raritan Bay

Happy Birthday 60th Class of '76

Claire Murphy Hall, Ken Wilhelm, me, Kathy Rigby, Ellen Colby
What an amazing weekend we had August 11 and 12th.  I am lucky enough to have a high school class that loves to have reunions. I lived in New Jersey from birth to 1982 when I married the man who would become my ex husband, and the father of my children.  I haven't lived there since, but it holds a very special place in my heart.  I had great times growing up in New Jersey. I have missed my friends there for years.  Two of the most important are in this photo.  Claire and I went to school together throughout grammar school and high school.  We share a very special bond, as we were born on the same day, in the same hospital.  We shared a lot over the years, including working together on the Keansburg boardwalk, she even came and visited me when I lived in England. It was so great to spend time with her.
Kathy and I were very close in High School.  I hadn't seen her in almost 30 years.  It was great to see her, and have a chance to catch up on her life.
Facebook helps me keep in touch, but it was great to embrace my dear friends.

SAILING the RARITAN BAY
The next day we had the pleasure of joining my brother John and his family on the eve of his birthday.  My brother Jim and his wife, also joined him on a sailing cruise on the Raritan Bay on John's friend Bill's sailboat.  We had spent a lot of time on the bay as children, but I have never sailed before.  Dispute a weather forecast to the contrary we had a beautiful day, and even sailed to Staten Island for lunch.  We had views of the Verrazano Bridge and the New York skyline.  It was a beautiful day, and I am so happy we were able to join my brothers and their families on this excursion.  New Jersey has never looked so good.

After the cruise, Dave and I went back to May's Landing to pack up and get ready for our trip to Lancaster PA.
