Well we finally got out of the back yard, away from our crippled house and hit the road. Sue said why not tour Florida while we wait for repairs to be made and finally get the house on the market.
We made reservations for Fiesta Key and headed for the Florida's Caribbean Islands. Despite rain we are having a great time, Kayaking in the Ocean, exploring Pennekamp's trails, checking out our favorite haunts to see how they endured Hurricane Irma and what ever caught our interest at the moment. Hurricane Irma certainly left it's mark, but there is a lot of new construction going on. One of our favorite State Park campgrounds, Long Key, is without campsites. The oceanfront campgrounds have been wiped out, as Mother Nature took a lot of the beach back.
Glad we were able to make this trip, the Florida Keys hold a special place in both of out hearts, and it's good to see that it is mostly open for business.
Check out the video of the seaturtle below that appears to be living in Fiesta Key marina.
We are on to Peace River next week, which is east of Sarasota, Fl. We have never been there, so it will be a new experience. We hear it is great, we will keep you posted.
