New Hampshire

No trip to New England would be complete without a trip to the White Mountains.  The fresh air, the clean mountain streams, abundance of crystal clear water.  Absolutely beautiful.  To us, the cool air felt amazing.  We spend a lot of time driving on the Kancamagus Trail and hiking trails and chasing waterfalls. So relaxing.

 Old Man of the Mountain

On May 2, 2003 the Old Man fell from Cannon Mountain.  But the people of New Hampshire refused to forget their state symbol.   The viewing area now has a way of recreating the Old Man appearance.  To view you will find the pink granite stone in the patio area and stand on your height written on the stone, then you sight along the profiler towards cannon mountain and it appears the Old Man is restored.

Susan told me this is where I was supposed to stand to see it.

Of course we had to take a trip or two on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, the falls and other views are amazing.

Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, NH where else could you eat pancakes with such a view.

Susan saw a field of purple lupine and had to stop for a photo op, beauty in front of beauty.
