Voyager RV Park in Tuscon Arizona is a campground that was recommended to us as a place to winter. When we made reservations there, we were undecided if we were going to try a winter in Arizona, or return to Florida. Ultimately, we decided to return to Florida to visit with friends and family, but we did try out Arizona for future visits.
I will say, this campground was amazing. It definitely has retirees in mind. It had the largest hot tub I'd ever seen, as well as a indoor pool and a very large outdoor pool. More pickle ball courts than I've ever seen, and they were used from sun up to sun down. Craft rooms galore, and a amazing billiard room. It is a possibility for a future winter retreat. We would not run out of things to do. Dave and I might learn a new trade, and start participating in craft shows. At least if my neck got sore after hours of looking down at the jewelry I was creating, I could go hang out in my favorite hot tub, the one next to the bar.
While in Tuscon, we were able to visit with a couple of my childhood friends, Kathy and Will Scherzinger. Kathy lived down the street from our family. While in grammar school we all walked to school together. As teenagers, the 3 of us worked together on the Boardwalk. After work we would all hang out together. I haven't seen them in about 40 years. It was great to see them again. We had a lot of catching up to do. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture, but let me assure you, we all looked fabulous. Catching up with friends and relatives is a big plus to our travels.
Of the many things we did while in the Tuscon area, visiting Mt Lemmon Observatory in the Coronado National Forest was our favorite. The way to the observatory is thru the Coronado National Forest. What a beautiful drive as you climb to the Sky Center located at 9,000 foot elevation. It was a beautiful drive, as we ascended the mountain. On the way home, we had a great view of Tuscon lite up at night. I will say, the trip down the mountain at night was a scarier that the trip up. I am so glad Dave is a good driver.

Saguro National Park and Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. We enjoyed our time visiting the Tuscon area. The desert is beautiful, and there are some magnificent sunsets. I'm certain there are beautiful sunrises as well, but we sleep right thru them. After all, we are retired.
We took a few trips to different parks. We had a great day in the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Zoo. There was even a cave in it, that's where Dave found the bat ears in the photo below. There was also the biggest frog I'd ever seen. You can see me having a staring contest with him in the bottom middle photo below. This is just one photo of a road runner, we saw many while exploring the desert. They were running all over the place. The Mission in the photos below is Mission San Xavier de Bac. It is a beautiful building that originally opened in 1797.

Well, that does it for our Tuscon trip. We had an amazing time in the desert. I'm sure we will be back. From here, we are headed to Southern Texas.
