Our New Home - The Cuddie's RV Upgrade Time

Our New Home

Sue and I were having a discussion one day as to the maintenance due on the trailer.  We had over 14,000 miles on the rig, the tires, axles, axles bearings and brakes, all needing to be replaced.  Our soft spot in the floor needed repair, and there is no telling if warranty would help with that.
I saw Sue thinking for a minute and then she said  "We have lived for almost two years in 200 square feet and with only one bathroom.  We are not divorced due to the compactness of our living quarters, and we have had a wonderful time exploring.   Let's upgrade to a better RV and keep going. "
Well that began our search and research,  we decided to buy used and save that initial depreciation of a new rig.
Shortly after starting our search, we limited it to Fleetwood or Tiffin, and then after searching for a while in a few different states we found the Fleetwood Storm.  This met all our wants,  was one year old and only had 4,500 miles on it.  Sue said this was a great deal and we should take it, when the salesman came back in the room to hear our decision, I jokingly told him Sue said she would take it but only if you install a new washer and dryer. The salesman said "no problem".    Lazydays RV put us in their campground at the back of the service area for over a week. Serviceman went over the unit with a fine toothed comb to correct any problems before we ever left the sales yard.  Thanks to Steve and Ron from Lazydays RV for their assistance and prompt adjustment or repair they made.  ( Even if it was just teaching me how to operate some things on the rig)

With Hydraulic automatic levelers, and a set up compartment for all utilities, and awnings over the slideouts - we found it took us five minutes instead of 30 minutes to set up or break down the rig.   It has a large "basement" that held all our gear from the truck.

Now came the hard part, we could not tow the Tundra so it had to go.   We chose a car to replace it based on how easily it flat towed.  The Fleetwood now has a pet to drag along behind it, our new Chevrolet Sonic.   Hammerick's Auto in Sebastian will soon install the tow base plate, and tow brakes, and we will be ready for our next and hopefully cheaper adventure.
