Day 5 in Yellowstone - Animals of Park plus

If you are trying to decide how much time you need to see everything in Yellowstone National Park, you will need to add to your estimate.    There is so much and such a variety from acid springs, geysers, hot pools, steam vents, to amazing water falls canyons, mountains, snow fields, peaceful lakes, raging rivers, flower filled meadows, and scenic drives of such beauty it is hard to describe them.    On top of all this we saw bears, mountain squirrels, elk, moose, bison, eagles, osprey, and pelicans.   This is just a portion of the sights, you go from breath taking hell fire and brimstone to soft heavenly beauty in each and every turn of the park.   This park is a must see...... I also recommend elk, moose and bison burgers LOL    Sue refused to try them.

Elk in front of the Visitor Center

Elk seemed to take over the Center

Mountain Goats took over the road in North end of Park
The goats finally allowed us to pass

The buffalo were ambling along the roads all over

OK I guess he qualifies for the foot traffic part
Had to wait for them to get done with the path before we could pass

Don't tell them I had a bison burger, and it was goooooood !!!

Animals were all over

Mammoth Hot Springs Geyser Basin

This was an area we decided we had not spent enough time in, The terraces remind me of an inside out cave and the colors are not justified in these pics.

Norris Geyser Basin

Another area we felt we had to revisit, this area is the hottest and most changing of the Geyser Basins in Yellowstone.

Again Norris Geyser Basin is in the most unstable area of Yellowstone, and it is believed the tectonic plates of the earth shifted while we were there.  Steamboat Geyser which is second to Old Faithful had become unreliable and less potent in recent years.  While we were there it is believed a tectonic shift occured and the plumbing of the Steamboat opened again, shooting 300 feet into the air.

Our trip to Yellowstone was amazing and we are preparing to move to Glacier Natl Park.

Roosevelt Arch, we appreciate all he did for National Par

MMMMMMMMMMM  !!!!
