Glenwood Adventure Park

We had  a great day at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.  The town on Glenwood Springs is amazing.  There is so much to see and do.  Great hiking, whitewater rafting, beautiful views everywhere you look.  We had a great time hiking some of the trails, viewing waterfalls, and spending a day at this adventure park.  We had planned on going whitewater rafting, but as the snow was melting the river was running very fast, and the raft company said they were considering stopping rafting for a couple weeks because the river was getting dangerous due to the amount of water coming down it.  We decided to wait to treat ourselves at another of our destinations.  The rides did not interest us, in fact, they scared us, way too intense.  But the views were amazing and the caverns were very cool.  Another great day in this vacation paradise.

This adventure started out with a gondola ride
This climb was alot easier than the trails
View of the City of Glenwood Springs on the way up
From the top we could see almost everything in Glenwood valley

We took in a few minutes to enjoy the amazing views from the top of the mountain.
King and Queen

Started with tour of the caverns

Ever notice that Sue and I seem to find caverns and waterfalls where every we go.
Turn on the lights and its disco in a cave

Needed the Bee Gees and room to dance

What a light show, this is bioluminescent glow after lights all turned off in the cave.
Started getting hungry here if you look the formation in the center of the screen looks like bacon.  Good lean bacon not the walmart stuff.  If God wanted to make us more healthy he would of made vegetables taste like bacon.  MMMMMMM bacon !!

One of the tighter caves I've been in had to be careful not to bang my bald head.
Now this is where I drew the line this ride or chair swing is perched on the top edge of the canyon, when you swing out you look straight down thousands of feet.

Sue was amazed but agreed, not going on it no way.   If Patti had been here she would have gone.
All the riders were hiding there eyes, screaming, and clutching onto what ever they could.   Me I would have left a stream of vomit all across the arc of the swing.

Here we go again, perched on the edge of the canyon.
When you swing your looking straight down thousands of feet into the canyon.   I am beginning to believe there are no friendly rides here.

Here is the view down from the ride
Great view and the valleys nice too
Patti are you sure ?

If there is any doubt about our elevation, I am leaning over the ride guardrail.  If you look in the center of this pic next to the Colorado River, that is a interstate highway down there going into the tunnels.   The exit at the very top of the photo is the No Name area, where our fantastic hosts, Krysta and Bryan, live in a beautiful place on the side of the mountain.
