Redstone Area
We had to make a trip to Redstone CO, Irv had told us of his grandfathers history in the area. Frank Kistler owned and operated the Hotel Colorado famous for the Hot Springs Pool and Vapor Caves. We were disappointed that we could not tour Redstone Castle, but our tour of Redstone was interesting and the area is so beautiful.

Coke ovens in Redstone, I was told the coal was of the best quality to turn into coke. Coal was burn in the ovens in lack of oxygen which created coke. This process made a purer fuel for smelting. |

Aspen on Memorial Day
Aspen was what I envisioned as a "Ski Town" quaint and inviting the streets were full of skiers and their equipment. |
Ski slopes were busy although the temps were in the 60s at the base. |
